Betula Platter
Created as a result of my QEST Scholarship, exploring Flat Hammering and Tray Sinking
Betula is the Birch tree, my favourite tree, especially in Spring, my favourite season. This piece was made after deepening my research and understanding of Flat Hammering as part of my QEST Scholarship. This piece is all about exploring surfaces and creating extremely simple expressions of elegant flowing lines.

“I enjoyed developing my (QEST Scholarship) experiments in sinking trays to different levels, blending levels with swooping curves, in non-traditional ways, to create this simple platter.”
