Anticlastic Raising with Michael Good
Michael Good worked closely with the late, great Heikki Seppä, the Finnish Silversmith who pioneered Anticlastic Raising in the 1970s. Michael’s sculptures and sculptural jewellery are exquisite, he is a true master. Around 2006 I was very lucky to get the opportunity to spend a week at Brian Clarke’s workshop in Ireland learning more about Anticlastic Raising (which Brian had introduced me to). Michael is an amazing and generous teacher, and communicates his enthusiasm for the technique and how to do it with a clarity that is rare and inspiring. He and Brian taught me a lot about making my own tools, which was very useful as I was setting up my workshop on a shoestring, and I still love making tools now.
