Lines in the Landscape Boxes
inspired by lines in the landscape observed from high up in the mountains
The meandering line sculpted into the tops of the boxes is inspired by lines in the landscape observed from high up in the mountains looking down, water wending through valleys, escarpments sweeping. The lines are repeated in the dark interior of the boxes in 18 carat gold.
These pieces follow on from a new development in my work, ‘Brushstroke’, which I made for the ‘Silver Speaks’ exhibition at the V&A Museum (curated by Corinne Julius).

“Brushstroke was a new development in my work, distilling drawings of the mountain landscape down to a simple sketched line, expressed in 3D in silver. These boxes continue in that vein, celebrating valleys viewed from way up on the tops.”
