The first of the 25, and so the most intensively prototyped of all the silver boxes, the 3D top surface depicting the form of the river-flow has three vertical facets, polished to reflect the subtle texture of the surface, and a pair of shiny bubbles.
The dark interior gives a glimpse of the stream bed, with gravel pebbles strewn across the sandy texture. The dimensions are H38mm and 45mm diameter, in the middle of the height range of the first five boxes.

25 for 25
I am celebrating my silver anniversary, 25 years of following my vocation, by creating 25 unique, numbered boxes inspired by the rivers of Snowdonia. A quarter century ago, I made my first object, I began my adventures in metalsmithing making a simple copper box, and I’ve distilled everything I’ve learned since then into these small treasures.
These small treasures may be heirlooms to be treasured by people a hundred years from now, but they also support knowledge and skills passed hand to hand down the centuries. They are a tangible link in the unbroken chain of skills transferred from smith to smith, from the Bronze Age to now and into the future.
