August closed on an ear-ringing high with a week of passing on skills in Sheffield, assisting Tony Bedford teaching eight enthusiastic silversmiths to raise a matching pair of vessels, at Yorkshire Art Space. There’s nowhere to hide when you’re making a pair, so it’s a powerful exercise in getting the result you intended, and making it happen twice! Everyone worked exceptionally hard despite the heatwave, and the final line-up of vessels was seriously impressive. This was a Contemporary Britsh Silversmiths Skills Training Programme course.
