In 2020 I was directing the Contemporary British Silversmiths Skills Training Programme, when all in-person workshops were cancelled. The expectation was that no training would happen until it was possible to gather again, which seemed like a missed opportunity, so I set about designing an effective course, with everyone in their own workshop spaces all over the country, tutorial videos, written resources and live Zoom meetings. There were many unexpected benefits, it was extremely powerful, which is why I’m offering options for Metalsmithing online, so we can work together from anywhere in the world.

Supported working in your own space, at your own pace, with your own set up results in deep learning, which can be better than in-person for many people. There’s no need to travel, you can choose the timing, and there are no distractions.
