The 25 for 25 Collection
‘II’
The second one of the boxes (the first five are available now), The 3D top surface depicting the form of the river-flow has two vertical facets, polished to reflect the subtle texture of the surface, and a pair of shiny bubbles. The dark interior gives a glimpse of the stream bed, with four gold nuggets in amongst the river-worn pebbles strewn across the sandy texture. The dimensions are H30mm and 45mm diameter, the lowest in height of the first five boxes.
The slate of ‘II’ has striations of green amongst the lavender grey. The etched drawing appears clearer and paler on this type of slate. The strong clear lines of the river-flow reflect in the polished surface of the box, drawing you in. The natural breaks in the slate are sculptural landscapes in themselves, with curves that echo the flow. The slate base is roughly rectangular, 240mm in length and 65mm wide.
The lines of the drawing, unique to each piece, reflect in the polished surface of the cylindrical box, creating another flow, depending on the angle of reflection.
Inspired by the fast-flowing mountain streams of Snowdonia, each box captures a moment in the flow of the stream, like a core sample, and reveals the surprising detail of the flow, which we never really get to see, due to the turbulence and motion.. It’s more angular and geometric than we imagine. Silver is the perfect medium to reveal the shape of water, both reflect light, both sparkle and shine. Each box is unique segment of the river flow, the surface of the water, and of the river bed, revealed when you open it and look inside. On the base is my London Assay office hallmark and ‘I’ etched to denote that this is the first of the 25. The number also appears hidden in the river etched on the slate.

Silver is the perfect medium to reveal the shape of water, both reflect light, both sparkle and shine. Each box is unique segment of the river flow, the surface of the water, and of the river bed, revealed when you open it and look inside.
Each box is meticulously fabricated from sheet silver, hammer formed, soldered together with mitred joints, the lid is inset, to keep the solder joins as invisible as possible. It sits in a recess, bounded by a silver collet, the slate etched with the ‘25 for 25 logo’
